Mr. Berghman joined FSC in August 2011. He recently completed his Master's in Public Policy at UC Berkeley, with an emphasis on energy and environmental analysis. Mr. Berghman's graduate thesis at Berkeley involved consulting work for the City of Santa Fe, NM. While there, he investigated the feasibility of creating a municipal utility. This work earned him Berkeley's Smolenksy prize for the best Policy School thesis. 

During his time at Berkeley, Mr. Berghman also interned at the California PUC, where he gained expertise in long-term power procurement and helped to evaluate the economic impact of a wave energy pilot project for the Sonoma County Water Agency. 

Before entering graduate school, Mr. Berghman worked as a spatial analyst for a Texas-based urban planning consulting firm, where he became an expert in the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for mapping and analyzing infrastructure systems. 

Mr. Berghman also holds undergraduate degrees in Geography, Urban Studies and Music with highest honors, from the University of Texas at Austin.
